Born in Ireland in 1903, Brother Majella immigrated to the United States with his family. He became a brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1923 and was educated at the University of Notre Dame and Columbia University. He came to St. Edward's University in 1947 and taught philosophy and education as well as directing a vocational program. His specialty was teaching, he wrote two successful books on the subject.
